With much fanfare, federal officials recently unveiled a five-year, $45 million media blitz designed to educate the nation about the persistent nature of HIV/AIDS in the U.S.

Halfway through the 2009 spring legislative session, the AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) is pleased to report significant progress advancing three HIV-related bills in the Illinois General Assembly.

So have you read the idiotic column in the New York Times by the self-appointed "Ethicist," Randy Cohen? This chowderhead seems to be operating on pre-1983 knowledge of HIV.

Chicago, Ill. – April 7, 2009 – In an effort to curb a still-serious HIV infection epidemic in metropolitan Chicago, the AIDS Foundation of Chicago and the Illinois Public Health Association today introduced a new program – Illinois HIV Care Connect – to increase awareness about a statewide network of services for HIV-positive individuals.

It costs little and will stop tens of thousands of HIV and hepatitis C infections per year.
